Who can join?

Any child with a special need, whether physical , intellectual or sensory, temporary or permanent. Groups catering for a special needs child or

children are also welcome

 

Borrowing:

Loans are for one month.

·                 3 toys, 3 books, & 3 puzzles  per family.

·                 4 toys, 3 books & 3 puzzles per group.

 

Changing toys fortnightly is recommended.

 

Should borrowers have difficulty attending to

return toys on a specific day, they can

contact the office  on 9411 4429 to make

alternative arrangements, especially if they are returning large  items.

 

Conditions of Borrowing :

Borrowers are responsible for :-

·                 Supervision of their child’s play with a toy.

·                 Returning all toys in good working order, clean and  intact , with all bags & labels.

·                 Payment for lost or damaged toys, bags & labels.

Noah’s Ark Toy Library (NATL) is run by a volunteer management committee assisted by 3 part time paid staff– a coordinator, a toy manager and an office manager.

Twenty volunteers , a number with

backgrounds in either Occupational

Therapy, Physiotherapy, Early Childhood Teaching or Nursing help run borrowing locations and fund raising activities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Our Aims are:

1/.To provide a variety of quality

educational toys & play equipment to assist the development of children with special needs, particularly in the age range 0-6 years.

2/.To provide suggestions to parents for choosing & using toys to foster learning.

3/.To suggest play alternatives to

encourage development of a particular skill.

4/.To provide support & encouragement to families whose child has special needs & to  professionals who work with children with   special needs.

5/.To refer families to other agencies who may be able to meet the particular need of a family or child with a disability.

Care of toys:

In the interest of

children’s health ,

borrowers are requested

to clean the toys

by washing them in

warm water with

detergent and drying them in the sun,

CLIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES WILL BE TREATED WITH STRICT CONFIDENTIALITY

 

Funding Sources:

NATL receives no recurrent Government

funding.

Funding is from:-

·                  Fundraising activities

·                  Donations by Individuals &/or Clubs

·                  Membership fees

·                  “One-off” grants from Federal, State

           &/or  Local Governments.

 

·                   In Kind support from Willoughby City           Council.
